Do Brasil para o mundo: Banco Central estuda proposta de PIX internacional

Com pouco mais de um ano desde a sua implementação, o PIX deverá subir de patamar em breve. Isso porque já existe uma proposta de PIX internacional, que deverá facilitar os pagamentos instantâneos para fora do Brasil e, consequentemente, aumentar as transações do tipo.

O projeto foi revelado por Lúcio Oliveira, Chefe de Subunidade no Departamento de Regulação Prudencial e Cambial (Dereg) do Banco Central do Brasil, durante o webinar “CP 79: A Evolução dos Facilitadores de Pagamento Internacionais”. “Estamos em fase de estudos e, no devido momento, teremos condições de avançar mais com este projeto”, afirmou o executivo durante a conferência.

Segundo Oliveira, o Bacen estuda formas para reunir todas as três condições necessárias para viabilizar as transações instantâneas internacionais: a regulamentação do PIX, a regulamentação do câmbio e a infraestrutura com plataforma internacional que será responsável por operar o sistema.

Divulgado no ano passado, o edital de consulta pública 79/2020 é uma das iniciativas para a concretização do PIX internacional, já que apresenta “propostas de atos normativos que aprimoram a regulamentação do mercado de câmbio, considerando as inovações tecnológicas e os novos modelos de negócio relacionados a pagamentos e transferências internacionais”.

No entanto, o chefe do Dereg reforça que todo o processo está ligado à legislação atual e as condições deverão ser ampliadas somente após a aprovação do projeto de lei cambial.

Embora o projeto para transações instantâneas internacionais não tenha um prazo definido para entrar em operação, é possível observar como o PIX foi bem recebido pela população brasileira.
