Novo pneu da Pirelli se regenera sozinho após ser furado; veja como

A Pirelli é uma das mais importantes marcas de pneus do mundo. Atualmente, a empresa italiana é a responsável por calçar os carros da Fórmula 1 e contém uma linha completa para veículos de passeio. E na semana passada a fabricante anunciou uma nova linha de pneus com a tecnologia Seal Inside, que permite aos motoristas seguirem rodando com os automóveis mesmo se o pneu for furado em 4mm.

Diferente dos tradicionais pneus run flat, que precisam de reparos para funcionarem perfeitamente após um furo, os modelos da Pirelli com essa tecnologia são superiores porque existe uma câmara interna no pneu que regenera o orifício. Quando o pneu é perfurado, imediatamente uma massa vedante incorpora-se ao objeto causador da perfuração, impermeabilizando todo o seu contorno, caso ele permaneça no pneu — como pregos e agulhas, por exemplo.

Quando esse objeto é removido do pneu, a massa vedante é “arrastada” para o interior do orifício, selando a perfuração. Segundo a Pirelli, essa tecnologia não necessita de aro exclusivo, sendo o TPMS (Sistema de monitoramento da pressão dos pneus) aconselhável, porém não obrigatório. Ela pode ser usada em qualquer tipo de veículo, a depender de sua medida. Esses dados foram obtidos em testes particulares realizados pela Pirelli nos quais os pneus foram submetidos a situações de estresse por perfuração.

A tecnologia foi inserida na nova linha de pneus lançada pela Pirelli recentemente, que consiste nos modelos Cinturado P7, pensada para carros convencionais; a Scorpion, para SUVs; e a Scorpion HT, desenvolvida para picapes e veículos com apelo off-road, como utilitários grandes. Segundo a fabricante italiana, o preço dos pneus com a tecnologia Seal Inside terá um acréscimo de até 15%.

Segundo a Pirelli, serão 20 medidas disponíveis, representando aproximadamente 70% de cobertura do segmento-alvo, com seis homologações em andamento para 2022 e 2023. Os pneus com tecnologia Seal Inside serão fabricados diretamente no Brasil para carros com aros 16, 17, 18 e 19.

Qual a diferença para o run flat?

Mesmo sem testar os pneus na prática, a diferença entre um modelo equipado com a tecnologia Seal Inside em comparação com os conhecidos run flat é notória. Basicamente, o run flat permite ao condutor rodar com os danos causados e até perfurações mais duras, porém em baixa velocidade, até chegar a um borracheiro mais próximo e efetuar o reparo ou a troca do produto.

No caso do Pirelli equipado com Seal Inside, o próprio pneu se “regenera”, já que a massa vedante que está inserida na câmara interna age para que não haja escapamento de ar e tampouco maiores danos ao pneu. Se a perfuração for de até 4mm, o próprio motorista pode remover o objeto perfurante sem maiores problemas.
