Primeiras Imagens do Amazonia 1

A recepção no Brasil das primeiras imagens do satélite Amazonia 1 ocorreu em 3 de março de 2021. Após dois dias de testes com todos os subsistemas do satélite, a câmera WFI do Amazonia 1 foi ligada sobre o Brasil nas duas passagens diurnas. A primeira passagem, mais a leste, teve início às 9:57:27 e término às 10:08:27, horário local de Brasília, e foi recebida com sucesso pelas estações terrenas do INPE em Cuiabá e em Cachoeira Paulista. A segunda passagem, mais a oeste, teve início às 11:35:27 e término às 11:47:57, horário local de Brasília, e foi recebida com sucesso pela estação terrena do INPE em Cuiabá. As estações terrenas do INPE receberam e gravaram os dados brutos da câmera WFI, que foram processados em São José dos Campos e em Cachoeira Paulista, SP.

As figuras a seguir mostram cinco exemplos de imagens da câmera WFI do Amazonia 1, com resolução espacial de 66 metros.

Assim que terminar a fase de manobras para colocação do satélite em sua órbita nominal, o que deve ocorrer até o próximo dia 15 de março, inicia-se a fase de comissionamento da câmera WFI do Amazonia 1, com duração prevista de aproximadamente dois meses. Durante essa fase serão avaliadas a qualidade radiométrica e geométrica das imagens. Todos os ajustes necessários nos parâmetros de configuração do processamento serão feitos nesse período com o objetivo de gerar produtos de imagens com a melhor qualidade possível. Ao fim da fase de comissionamento, o satélite Amazonia 1 poderá ser oficialmente declarado operacional e as imagens serão colocadas à disposição da comunidade de usuários por meio do catálogo de imagens do INPE.
