Telescópio portátil e inteligente produz mosaico da nebulosa Carina

Telescópios inteligentes estão se tornando uma opção bastante interessante na astronomia amadora. Em seu site oficial, a empresa apresentou o mosaico do céu profundo produzido pelo Stellina: a imagem tem resolução de 550 milhões de pixels e é formada por mais de 208 mil fotos. O mosaico foi criado por Gilles Krebs, diretor técnico da Vaonis, e o projeto levou mais de 336 horas de exposições cumulativas para ser finalizado. O panorama mostra a nebulosa Carina, uma região de formação de estrelas que está a 8.500 anos-luz de nós, além de uma bela visão do céu do hemisfério sul e formações presentes nele.

Para agilizar o processo de exposição, posicionamento do telescópio e pós-processamento, a Vaonis quer utilizar o novo “Modo Mosaico”, que estará disponível no ano que vem para os usuários através de uma atualização do aplicativo da empresa. E, com a popularidade do Stellina, a Vaonis anunciou uma campanha de arrecadação para a produção do Vespera, que também erá um telescópio inteligente, porém menor e ultraportátil. Em apenas uma semana, a campanha já arrecadou U$ 905 mil — um valor bem acima da meta de U$ 10 mil. Com design futurístico, o Vespera está sendo promovido pelos astronautas Scott Kelly e Terry Virts, por sinal.

O Vespera terá abertura de 50 milímetros e pesará cerca de 5 quilos. Seu sistema terá controle de temperatura, que permitirá a dispersão térmica e ajustes de focos durante o resfriamento para eliminar pixels de calor do sensor. Além disso, o instrumento poderá realizar boas imagens do céu profundo; com o modo mosaico, se tornará uma ferramenta portátil e poderosa para observações feitas com o smartphone e o aplicativo da empresa, que utiliza o GPS do dispositivo para se calibrar.

As primeiras unidades do novo telescópio serão enviadas para os clientes em 2021.
