Primeira corrida de carros na Lua

Usando o foguete Falcon 9 da SpaceX, uma startup tem o plano ambicioso de levar dois carros de controle remoto para a Lua. Mas, mais do que isso, a ideia da empresa é realizar também a primeira corrida em solo lunar. Se tudo for como planejado, isso deve ocorrer em outubro de 2021.

A iniciativa está sendo organizada pela Moon Mark, uma empresa de conteúdo multimídia e educacional, que fez uma parceria com a Intuitive Machines, uma companhia aeroespacial. A ideia é que os equipamentos sejam enviados à Lua a bordo do foguete da SpaceX para que corram ao redor do Oceanus Procellarum, um dos maiores mares lunares

Os carros serão projetados por alunos do ensino médio dos Estados Unidos. Seis grupos participarão do processo seletivo. As duas melhores equipes, definidas após uma série de desafios, também vão cuidar da construção dos equipamentos.
