Depois de muito tempo em desenvolvimento, as chamadas de vídeo e de voz começam a chegar à versão beta do WhatsApp, tanto para Web quanto para desktop. Funciona assim: ao receber a chamada, uma janela separada é aberta, com a opção de atender ou recusar a ligação. Essa janela permanece visível durante a conversa e é nela que as imagens dos participantes são exibidas, no caso de videochamadas.
Para quem inicia a chamada, a janela flutuante também aparece, só que em tamanho menor. Ela mostra o status da chamada e alguns botões de atalho. Por ser menor, a janela não atrapalha o uso de outros aplicativos. Isso pode ser bem útil, especialmente para quem precisa falar com muitas pessoas ao mesmo tempo no computador.
A novidade por enquanto está disponível apenas para usuários do WhatsApp Beta para Android e iOS. Ainda não há previsão de liberação do recurso para todos os usuários.
