Deserto do Saara tem registro de gelo e neve nas dunas em fenômeno raro

Imagens feitas no deserto do Saara, no norte da África, registraram um fenômeno raro: gelo e neve no local. O fenômeno foi visto em meio às dunas de areia do deserto, na região que fica na Argélia.

Neste mês de janeiro as temperaturas no Saara chegaram a -3°C. Apesar de o mês ser tradicionalmente o mais frio no deserto, o registro de neve é raro. A última vez que isso aconteceu foi há 40 anos.

Já no verão, os termômetros podem se aproximar dos 50°C no Saara, considerado o maior deserto quente do mundo.
