6 palavras que o brasileiro herdou do japonês

Há palavras que usamos no português que, de cara, podemos identificar uma relação direta com a língua japonesa – estão aí o sushi e o karatê para provar isso.

No entanto, nem todas as palavras de origem japonesa que o brasileiro pegou para o seu vocabulário (e os falantes da língua espanhola também) têm uma relação tão clara.

Enumeramos aqui seis termos que trouxemos para o português e que talvez você use sem se dar conta da procedência nipônica.

1. Soja

Brasil é o maior produtor mundial de soja

A soja – grão cujo maior produtor mundial é o Brasil – tem origem fora do nosso país. O grão veio da Ásia e a palavra também: tem origem no japonês (shoyu).

As sementes de soja são ricas em óleo e proteínas e são usadas para a produção de leite, queijo, óleo de cozinha – além de óleo para produção de biodiesel e também como farelo na produção de ração para suínos e aves.

2. Tsunami

Nos últimos vinte anos, os tsunamis no Oceano Índico em 2004 e no Japão em 2011 foram catástrofes que deixaram milhares de mortos.

O tsunami é uma grande onda ou uma sucessão de ondas marinhas que se deslocam em alta velocidade e que se tornam catastróficas ao atingir profundidades menores, invadindo as praias.

Esse fenômeno pode ocorrer devido a abalos sísmicos no fundo do oceano, erupção vulcânica ou, ainda, deslizamentos.

Embora não seja uma palavra nova, “com o tsunami de 2004 e depois em 2011 observou-se aumento do número de vezes que é usado“, disse Rafael Fernández Mata, professor de espanhol na Universidade de Córdoba, Espanha, e autor de diversos estudos sobre uso do japonês no espanhol.

Em japonês a palavra tsunami significa algo como “onda de porto” (tsu = porto; nami = onda) ou maremoto.

3. Biombo

Biombo: vem do japonês e significa algo como “proteção ao vento”

Sabe o biombo, aquela estrutura de peças de madeira ou tecido, que se abre e se fecha, geralmente usada para separar ambientes? Vem do japonês também (byōbu) e significa algo como “proteção ao vento”.

Além do uso literal da palavra no português, o dicionário Michaelis também prevê o uso dessa palavra em sentido figurado, para se referir a uma ação que serve para encobrir um dano ou um defeito.

4. Emoji ????

Outra palavra japonesa que adotamos no português é o emoji. A palavra “emoji” vem da união de “e“, que significa imagem em japonês, e “moji“, que tem a ver com letra.

Sua definição diz que é uma pequena imagem ou ícone digital que é usado nas comunicações eletrônicas para representar uma emoção, objeto ou ideia.

5. Futon

Futon é usado na tradicional cama japonesa

Futon vem de… futon, em japonês.

É um tipo de colchão bem fino, que parece uma grande almofada, usado na tradicional cama japonesa. Eles são baixos, com cerca de 5cm de altura, e são preenchidos geralmente com algodão, lã ou material sintético.

6. Karaokê

Karaokê é mais uma palavra que vem do japonês
