As ações da Apple subiram 2,85% nesta terça-feira (22), guiadas pelo plano da companhia revelados por uma reportagem da Reuters: produzir carros elétricos até 2024.
A gigante americana estaria especialmente empenhada no desenvolvimento de tecnologias para bateria dos carros e que levariam a uma redução de custos dos veículos, segundo a publicação.
A Apple planeja incorporar um design “monocélula”, que concentra as células da bateria e elimina vários compartimentos de armazenamento. Ainda segundo a reportagem, estaria nos planos da companhia uma composição das baterias de íon-lítio que evitaria o superaquecimento.
A reportagem revive o plano automotivo da Apple conhecido como Projeto Titan, depois de rumores de que a iniciativa havia acabado. Os papéis da Apple já haviam subido 1,2% na segunda-feira com a notícia, e hoje chegaram a avançar 4,81%, na máxima do dia.
Enquanto isso, a Tesla – que seria a maior concorrente nessa frente da empresa fundada por Steve Jobs – caiu mais de 6% ontem. Nesta terça, as ações da companhia de Elon Musk também fecharam em baixa, desta vez de 1,47%.
Apesar de o mercado reagir dessa forma, não deve ser uma missão simples para a Apple embarcar na produção de carros elétricos. A Tesla passou quase duas décadas fazendo veículos para só mais recentemente chegar em lucro constante.
