A Estória do Homem de Negócios Insensato

Um dos meios mais eficazes para se comunicar conceitos importantes se dá através do uso de estórias. Como alguém descreveu, isso equivale a “pintar um quadro verbal que sustente um princípio importante”. Estórias que incorporam ideias que desejamos transmitir tornam essas ideias mais fáceis de serem lembradas. 

Jesus Cristo era mestre nisso. Ele contou parábolas (estórias curtas e comoventes) para revelar nossa fraqueza humana. Hebreus 4:15 diz: “pois não temos um sumo sacerdote que não possa compadecer-se das nossas fraquezas, mas sim alguém que, como nós, passou por todo tipo de tentação, porém, sem pecado.”  

Ele também usou parábolas para apresentar a ouvintes receptivos os segredos do reino de Deus. Como Jesus explicou em Lucas 8:10, “…A vocês foi dado o conhecimento dos mistérios do Reino de Deus, mas aos outros falo por parábolas, para que ‘vendo, não vejam; e ouvindo, não entendam’. Os que estavam abertos para aprender captariam as mensagens de Suas palavras. 

Em uma ocasião relatada em Lucas 12:13-21, “alguém na multidão” pediu a Jesus que dissesse a seu irmão para lhe dar a parte da herança a que ele acreditava ter direito. Entretanto, Jesus, aparentemente, se colocou à parte da disputa, dizendo “…quem Me designou juiz ou árbitro entre vocês?” Ao invés disso, Jesus chamou atenção para a raiz mais profunda da causa das disputas humanas, instando para com Seus ouvintes “…Cuidado! Fiquem de sobreaviso contra todo o tipo de ganância; a vida de um homem não consiste na quantidade dos seus bens.” 

E então, Jesus contou uma parábola para ampliar Seu argumento – uma com a qual muitos de nós, até mesmo no mercado de trabalho do Século XXI, podemos nos identificar. Aparentemente, um homem de negócios bem-sucedido (‘um homem rico”) se deparou com a decisão sobre o que fazer com um excesso de “colheita”. Faltando espaço de armazenamento para esse excesso, ele decidiu construir mais espaço de modo que pudesse guardar tudo para si mesmo. Então Deus entrou na estória, dizendo: “Insensato! Essa mesma noite a sua vida lhe será exigida. Então, quem ficará com o que você preparou? Assim acontece com quem guarda para si riquezas, mas não é rico para com Deus.” 

Por que aquele homem rico foi chamado de insensato? Alguém poderia dizer que ele tinha pouca ou nenhuma fé porque ele não incluiu Deus em seu processo de tomada de decisão. Contudo, os judeus daquele tempo considerariam que aquele homem, simplesmente por possuir riquezas, desfrutava do favor de Deus. Eles consideravam que as riquezas eram um sinal tangível do favor de Deus. As parábolas de Jesus tinham uma forma peculiar de transtornar pensamentos como esse. Não era a posse de riquezas – Ele advertia – mas o uso delas que indicava quanta fé em Deus e amor a Ele uma pessoa tinha. Em Seu “Sermão da Montanha” Jesus ensinou coisas como “Não acumulem para vocês tesouros na terra… Mas acumulem para vocês tesouros nos céus… Pois onde estiver o seu tesouro, aí também estará o seu coração.” (Mateus 6:19-21). 

O insensato é alguém que coloca sua fé, esperança e amor em si próprio e em suas riquezas, e não em Deus, como admoesta I Coríntios 13:13. Se o homem rico amasse a Deus, teria considerado opções mais piedosas (tesouros nos céus) para o uso do excedente de sua colheita. Sem dúvida, esse homem tinha vizinhos famintos e muitos outros que necessitavam desesperadamente de ajuda. Ao invés disso, como afirma a parábola, ele escolheu “acumular tesouros para si mesmo” e perdeu uma oportunidade maravilhosa de “ser rico para com Deus”.  

Se você e eu, como seguidores de Cristo, não oramos e perguntamos quanto ao melhor uso de nossos recursos, carecemos de amar a Deus e do amor de Deus, expondo nossa insensatez. Sempre sou conduzido à humildade por essa parábola. Que o Senhor me ajude – e àqueles que lerem este texto – a usar nossas riquezas sempre para acumular tesouros em Seu reino.

1. Em sua primeira carta à igreja de Corinto, no capítulo 13, o apóstolo Paulo declara que a fé, a esperança e o amor permanecem, mas que o amor é o maior de todos (I Coríntios 13:13). Como você, como seguidor de Cristo, poderia demonstrar amor acumulando tesouros nos céus se você se encontrasse com um excesso de riquezas, como o “homem rico” da parábola? 

2. A seguir, vamos considerar separadamente os demais elementos citados em I Coríntios 13: fé, esperança e confiança. Se você dissesse: “Minha fé (confiança) em Deus me permite…”, como você completaria esta frase? 

3. Se você dissesse: “Minha esperança em Deus me impele a…”, como você completaria esta frase?

4. Se você dissesse: “Meu amor a Deus faz com que eu…”, como completaria esta frase?

5. Finalmente, da perspectiva do seu papel no ambiente de trabalho, qual o significado da fé, esperança e amor no desempenho de suas responsabilidades diárias?
