WhatsApp finalmente rodará em múltiplos dispositivos, confirma Zuckerberg

O WhatsApp confirmou que o suporte a múltiplos dispositivos em uma mesma conta chegará em breve. Em uma entrevista para o site WABetaInfo, Mark Zuckerberg tomou a liberdade de comentar sobre recursos que estão por vir — e, aparentemente, vários já foram mencionados por rumores.

Uma das novidades mais aguardadas e finalmente confirmadas é o suporte a múltiplos dispositivos no WhatsApp. O site WABetaInfo esteve a frente na investigação sobre o recurso há meses (inúmeras vezes noticiado aqui no Canaltech), mas a adição nunca foi confirmada pela plataforma — mesmo com fortes indícios de que está em desenvolvimento.

Zuckerberg não entra em detalhes sobre como a ferramenta funcionará no mensageiro, mas antecipa que manter o WhatsApp rodando mesmo quando o celular (o dispositivo principal) perde a conexão foi um “grande desafio técnico”.

As mensagens trocadas em contas vinculadas a múltiplos dispositivos ainda contarão com criptografia de ponta a ponta. O executivo diz que isso foi garantido de uma forma “bem elegante” e acredita ser a melhor alternativa do segmento, mas poupou os detalhes sobre o sistema.

Mesma conta do WhatsApp em até 4 dispositivos diferentes

O diretor do WhatsApp, Will Cathcart, assumiu a discussão e confirmou ao WABetaInfo que o WhatsApp permitirá que a mesma conta seja utilizada em até quatro dispositivos simultaneamente — sem dizer quais seriam. Se confirmados os rumores anteriores, uma das opções seria o WhatsApp Web ou desktop, para computador.

A novidade também abre caminho para o aplicativo oficial do WhatsApp para iPad, que vem sendo pedido pela comunidade há anos. Contudo, nenhuma data foi divulgada.

Da mesma forma, o suporte a múltiplos dispositivos não teve data divulgada. Os executivos da plataforma se restringiram a dizer que a funcionalidade chegará “em breve” à versão beta, mas sem dar nenhuma janela de lançamento.

Envio de mídia no estilo Snapchat

Ainda na entrevista, Zuckerberg comentou que as mídias autodestrutivas estão a caminho. O recurso permitiria que o vídeo ou foto fosse visualizado uma única vez, sendo excluído logo em seguida. Obviamente, o recurso não impediria que o destinatário eternizasse o conteúdo com uma captura de tela ou uma gravação, mas seria mais eficiente do que pedir a exclusão voluntária do arquivo.

Nessa mesma linha, o “Modo de desaparecimento” também foi confirmado pelo executivo. Ainda não há muitos detalhes de como o recurso irá funcionar, tampouco como se diferenciará das mensagens autodestrutivas (que já existem no WhatsApp).

Infelizmente, tais recursos também não tiveram data de lançamento divulgada e, segundo o WhatsApp, estão em desenvolvimento. Como sempre, resta aguardar que as novidades cheguem ao beta, para só então esperarmos na versão final.
